When asked the question, "Where will you spend an eternity?" most people say they "hope" or "think" they'll go to heaven. They're not positive where they will go. 1 John 5: 12-13 says, "He who has the Son has life; and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."

It is a common misconception that by being baptized or by doing good works, you will be guaranteed a place in heaven. Jesus said in John 3:3 "Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." It is not what we have done, but what God has done for us that will secure our salvaton. Ephesians 2:8 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God." Eternal life, or salvation, is a free gift from God - you can't earn it.

It takes more than just believing there is a God to secure salvation. The Bible says that even the demons in hell believe there is a God, and yet, they will not be saved. The answer is in Romans 10:9 and 10; "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. "Salvaton somes through believing that Jesus is the Son of God and confessing Him as Lord. - If you believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for your sins and rose again, you can know for sure that you will go to heaven.

Pray this prayer:
God in heaven, I know I am a sinner and need your help. I believe in my heart that
Jesus Christ is your son, that He died for my sins and God raised Him from the dead.
Jesus, right now I open my heart and invite you to come in. Make yourself real to me.
Take control of my life. Keep me from eveil and make me the person You want me
to be. Be my Lord and Savior.
